Press Release Price increase for forging billets, bars and wire rod Saarstahl AG will increase prices for yearly contracts for 2001 for the higher value qualities, i.e. for forging billets and bars for the drop forging and cold extrusion industries as well as for wire rods in spring steel and cold heading qualities between Euro 40,00 and Euro 80,00 per tonne. Further price increases are envisaged in the framework of quarterly agreements for drawing qualities and free cutting steels by Euro 15,00 per tonne from the 01. January 2001. The reasons for these price increases are mainly in risen costs for raw materials, energy and freights as well as the continuously strong demand.
