Change in the Management at Saarschmiede - Önen Togar appointed as new member of the Management

At its meeting on December 09, 2014, the Supervisory Board of Saarschmiede GmbH Freiformschmiede appointed Önen Togar (56) as new member of the Management Board effective January 1, 2015, for a term of five years.

Togar suceeds Jürgen Horsthofer, who is leaving the company at his own request with effect from 31 march 2015. The Supervisory Board has expressed its thanks to Mr. Horsthofer for his commitment and wishes him success in his future professional career. Dr. Bernd Münnich, who was formerly responsible for the personnel department and has recently been appointed Chief of Technology at Dillinger Hütte, will also step down from the Board. His tasks will be taken over by Peter Schweda, Labour Director at Saarstahl.

Önen Togar, who will be responsible for Sales, holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Vienna and a Master of Business Administration (IT-Management) from Sheffield Hallam University. Since 1984 he was Co-founder and CEO of an international trade company in the petrochemical industry. In the year 1992 he has started his career at Siemens AG. After several years as Project Manager both at home and abroad (Singapore, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia) and as Head of Marketing/Sales at „Industrial Solutions and Services Group“ he became, in 2004, Head of Global Sales at the „Oil&Gas“ division for “Power Transmission and Distribution”. This was followed by positions as General Manager for the Regional Business Centre China and further leading sales positions in the global industry, energy and power generation sector. Since march 2012 until most recently Togar was Head of Sales for Generators at the „Energy Fossil Power Generation“ division.
