Personnel change on the Management Board of Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and Saarstahl AG

The Chief Executive Officer of both companies, Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, is resigning voluntarily.
Dr. Karlheinz Blessing (58) is resigning from his post as Chief Executive Officer of both Dillinger Hütte and Saarstahl and as Managing Director of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar, effective 31 December 2015.

After more than 20 years in Saarland’s steel industry – starting with his appointment as Labor Director of Dillinger Hütte from 1994 to 2011 as well as of Saarstahl starting in 2007, followed by his 2011 appointment as Chief Executive Officer of AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke and in 2012 as Chief Executive Officer of Saarstahl AG while at the same time serving as Managing Director of SHS – Stahl-Holding-Saar GmbH & Co. KGaA – Dr. Karlheinz Blessing will join the Management Board of Volkswagen AG as their new Board Member for Human Resources, effective 1 January 2016. 

The supervisory boards will deal with the early termination of Dr. Blessing’s mandate during their respective meetings on Thursday and Friday of this week.
