Zentralkokerei Saar GmbH

Zentralkokerei Saar GmbH (ZKS) produces blast furnace coke in Dillingen for the joint production of hot metal for the whole of the Saarland's steel industry. It produces continuously with two coke batteries and an overall capacity of around 1.2 million tonnes of coke per year. Since modernisation measures that were completed in 2012, it is one of the most modern and environmentally compatible coking plants in the world. Shareholders in ZKS, that was founded in January 1982, are Saarstahl AG and AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke, each holding 50 percent of the shares. ZKS has no employees of its own. The staff required for operating the plant is provided by Dillinger Hütte.
